RE: Burger Chef Chevrolet

"The Burger Chef I painted was located in Sacramento, CA where there were actually two. Sorry to say, I can't remember the address of either one....I love your BC Reliquary, it's full of wonderful goodies . . . swell place to browse."

Burger Chef Chevrolet

by American Photorealist Painter Ralph Goings

Burgerchef_chev Burger Chef Chevrolet, 1970, Oil on canvas 40 x 56"

Mr. Goings recalls that this painting is of one of two Burger Chefs located in Sacramento, California.  He painted another in 1972 entitled Burger Chef Interior.  Both paintings appear in two books that are both now out of print:  Ralph Goings Essay/Interview by Linda Chase (Abrams, Inc. NY 1988) and Photorealism by Louis K. Meisel (Abrams, Inc. NY 1980.)  Additionally, a slide of Burger Chef Chevrolet is archived at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Mr. Goings graciously permitted me to post this image in The Burger Chef Reliquary.  As in a museum, you're welcome to look, but please respect his copyrights.  If you would like to learn more about Ralph Goings or would like to view more of his work, then take a trip to his website Ralph Goings: Four Decades of Realism.

Update from The Mailbag: "I love your BC Reliquary, it's full of wonderful goodies . . . swell place to browse."--Ralph Goings

RE: Fun Money Coins

Hi,

I have a Burger Chef and Jeff fun money coin.  Not a chance this is worth anything, is there?

Thanks, Carl

Carl,

All of the fun money coins frequently appear on EBay.  They normally sell between $1.99 and $3.99.  You might get a couple of bucks more if you sell it at a yardsale or flea market.
