Welcome to the Bawdy Cloister's Reliquary. The artifacts contained here are remnants of a sacred time and place. As you peruse the collection, feel free to add additional information or share your memories in the comment sections at the end of each post. May the spirit of Burger Chef be with you always....
IU used to work at burger chef in morristown TN. It had to change names in 1994. They changed the name to PLeasers. Just yucky. Same food though. It closed in 2000. I worked there in 1990 and 1998. So I worked at burger chef twice kinda. Anyway, Hardees should have turned into BC instead of the other way around. Then Carl jrs wouldnt own them. All that money lost,oh well.
Nice to see someone from Morristown talking about Burger Chef. My Dad Chuck used to work at this Morristown Burger Chef in the late 70's (78 'til 1980 something...). My family always loved eating at Burger Chef. Then when they came out with the Mushroom Burger, it was a real big hit with my family. Who all raved and fussed over that Mushroom Burger for decades. Even now - after all this time - sometimes we talk about that burger and wish we could go back in time to have just one more Mushroom Burger again. Is the recipie still floating out there on the web? I can't find it.
Wow .. Burger Chef .. I started working at Burger Chef in Alice, Texas and Corpus Christi Texas back in 1975. Got promoted to General Manager, till Hardee's bought them out in 1981. Been looking for an old friend of mine named Hector Garcia, married Sylvia and had 2 daughters. They were originally from San Antonio. Hope we can find them ,, Danny Fabela
Hey, Danny. If you worked in Corpus Christi around that time, I'll bet I know a couple of the people you know. Did you know Brad Bailey and Julio Garcia? They were managers around that area about that time, too. There's a story behind how I know them, if you're interested.
