This Burger Chef was converted to a Hardee's, then to a Wendy's and now it is currently an Arby's.  My cousin owned the Burger Chef and Hardees at this location and I worked many years at this location as an Asst. Manager.

Chippewa Falls, WI

10 South Bridge Street

From 1977 thru March of 1979, I was the general manager of a Burger Chef at 10 South Bridge Street in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.  This unit was constructed during the first half of 1977.  The building is now used as the Welcome Center and business offices of the Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce.

From 1972 thru March of 1979, I was the general manager of a Burger Chef located on US Highway #12 (next to Sacred Heart Hospital) in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This restaurant eventually became a Hardee's but I am unaware of the current use of the building.

Grafton, WI

Falls Road & Washington Avenue

Another Burger Chef location in Grafton, WI.  This was on the corner of Falls Road and Washington Ave.  It closed around 80 or 81 and became an Arby's for a short time.  Then, it was converted to a Burger King for about 20 years.  Now, it is a Walgreens.  I never ate there but my wife can still taste their burgers to this day!

Kenosha, WI

Sheridan Road

I was born in 1974, in Kenosha, Wisconsin and I vaugely remember a a Burger Chef in the 3000 block of Sheridan Rd.

I know I've eaten there a few times becuase my dad prefered it over bk or mcd's. I don't remember the year it closed, but it was never converted into anything else and I'm almost positive that the original building is still there. It's been empty ever since. Man...that's been over 20 years that that building has been just sitting there.

Oconomowoc, WI

Wisconsin Avenue

This Burger Chef was a good place to work and I made many friends over the 5 years I worked there. Shortly after I had started working at Burger Chef around 1981 they made some changes to there menu that I liked. They changed the Top Shef and Super Shef and added the Mushroom Burger as a new item to the menu. All 3 sandwiches were now a 1/4 lb with the same kind of bun, they also made improvements to there fish sandwich. It must have been to late for these changes since not more than a year later they closed down. During my last three years there (1983-1985) it was converted into a Pleasers which had pretty much the same food except Breakfast was added along with several new items to the Dinner menu. I believe this Pleasers closed down sometime in the late 1980's.

Sheboygan, WI

S. 8th Street & Indiana Avenue

This was my favorite restaurant in the world. It was the saddest day of my young life (8 years old) when my parents told me we were eating there for the last time. I still can't believe it's gone. I drive by there when I'm back in the area and some naive part of me still hopes it might magically reappear.
