Oak Hill, WV

Hello. Just emailing you to let you know there was a Burger Chef in Oak Hill, WV. Remember eating there as a kid but don't remember much about it. I remember I used to have a few of the plastic audio records that told halloween stories with Burger Chef and Jeff. I kept them for a long time but misplaced them.

Parkersburg, WV

I stumbled over a patch from the mid late sixties the other day and bought it. Had a few great memories of walking about three miles each way for a sack of these burgers at the location next to PHS. My recollection was summer of 67 or 68' at eleven or twelve years of age. Sure brings back memories of a time when a burger of all things enticed me to go so far out of my way!!

Princeton, WV

Stafford Drive

There was a Burger Chef in Princeton WV in the 1970's, it was located on Stafford Drive, where the junior high school is now located. I remember going to the works bar and loading this huge burger up and I thought that was the coolest thing! Later the ad slogan involved Burger Chef and Jeff. Which was also cool since Jeff is my name... But sadly once McD came to town, it was the end of Burger Chef.

29th Street

There was a Burger Chef at the bottom of 29th street hill... When Hardees took over, this restaurant was abandoned and the building was later demolished to make way for a car wash.

855 National Road

There was a Burger Chef on National Road, across from the AAA motor club. It had a small arcade in the back with Donkey Kong and Qbert. I remember buying my kids meal for $2.05 exactly. It was turned into a Hardees around 1985.

According to the Rax website, their company began as the Restaurant Administration Corporiation (RAC).  Before developing Jax and Rax restaurants in later years, RAC started out as a Burger Chef franchisee.  The first Burger Chef they opened was in Wheeling in 1963.  Does anyone know whether this is the same store located at 855 National Rd.?  Please post a comment if you know.  Thanks.
