Absecon, NJ

It's obviously still in business as a Burger King, and again because of remodels it isn't easy to recognize until you look at the picture taken from the back. I naturally didn't take any pictures inside, but there's a piece of the floor in the kitchen area near the drive thru that still has the original green ceramic tiles!

Bridgeton, NJ

North Pearl Street
#31-289

This is where I first started working for BC while in high school in 1968.  It was on North Pearl Street, and is now a diner.  The next time I'm down that way, I'll get a picture.  It opened around 1964 and closed around 1972.  The franchisees who owned this store also had stores in Freehold, NJ on Rt. 33, and another one in Oakhurst, NJ.

I was down around my old stompin' grounds today, and got a couple of pics of the former Burger Chef in Bridgeton, New Jersey. This store, #31-289, opened in 1964 and closed around 1972. It was where I started working for BC in late 1968 as a crew member, and was promoted to Assistant Manager before I left to go into the military in late 1970.

The first pic shows the store from the front. Many additions and remodels have taken place, and it really isn't very recognizable anymore.

The second picture looks a little more familiar, to those of us who remember.

I may have some more pics of some other locations before too long.

Here's an aeial view of the Cherry Hill, NJ Burger Chef. Since the site was triangular the parking had to run along the sides of the building instead of the more usual parking in front of the building with a center walkway.

Deptford, NJ

1391 Delsea Drive

Here are some pics I took today of the former BC in Deptford, NJ. It currently operates as Me and U Pizzeria, and has for years. Up until recently, the orange diamonds were still on the sides of the building, but renovations have made it much less recognizable. They do, however, still use part of the original sign. It is at Rt.47 and Cooper Street.

Hammonton, NJ

It's now in business as Nino's Pizza-Rama, but the building is very recognizable. And in the second pic, you can see that they still use part of the original sign!
