I fondly recall my beloved Uncle Charlie, bringing me Burger Chefs almost daily, from the Moreland Ave., location. I plan on locating the address, which was just around the corner from our Woodland Ave home.

Roswell Road

I remember there being a location on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. This would have been in the late 60s/early 70s. I can't pinpoint the exact address, but I'll try to figure out which block it was on.

Carrollton, GA

South Street

Carrollton, GA., is a small town in west Georgia, about 50 miles from Atlanta. It's best known nowadays for being the home of the University of West Georgia and the burial place of actress Susan Hayward.  Back in 1974, a Burger Chef was located on a stretch of four-lane highway then known alternatively as the 4-Way or the Bypass, but now known as South Street. It was probably the first fast food restaurant in town and my folks would often pick up food from there on their way home from work to save time from cooking. I used to go there quite a lot; I met the first girl I ever took out on a date there. I always ordered the same thing - four (!) hamburgers with just ketchup.  I liked the way the ketchup they used fused with the bread, so that there was a strange but tasty extra layer between the meat and the bun.  I have no idea what happened to it, or when it closed, but the building has now been converted, I think, into a BBQ restaurant.  I can never go back home but that I pass that place, think about picking up the food in my bell bottoms and platform shoes - and, of course, about the girl. Sigh.

I worked at the this Burger Chef when I was in high school. I met my future husband there and we have been married for going on 29 yrs.

This former Burger Chef is now a La Fiesta mexican restaurant..the BBQ place is next door in a former KFC.

I was visiting friends over the New Year’s Eve weekend in suburban Atlanta and happened to be driving in Roswell, GA when I noticed this very familiar looking structure – I didn’t see it listed anywhere on your locations page, so I thought I’d send you the photo and the cross streets. It is on Alpharetta Street at the intersection of Woodstock Street.

Statesboro, GA

There was a Burger Chef in Statesboro, Geogia.  There is an ad for this location in the local High School Yearbook at the Statesboro Public Library which I am attaching here.  Sadly it is too blurry to make out the address.  If you email that library & ask them that you wish for them to look up the Burger Chef address in the phone directory from say 1971, 72, or 73, I bet they would do that for you.

The Burger Chef in Statesboro was a great place that was just across the street from what is now the practice facility for the football team. What a great place it was, long before the golden arches deemed the 'Boro worthy of a franchise! My favorite? I got into their ham and melted cheese sandwich...wish I could still find one today!

Thomasville, GA

217 Remington Avenue

According to this review, George and Louie's Fresh Seafood Restaurant occupies the location of an old Burger Chef, but the original building has burned down.  A picture of the Thomasville Burger Chef taken in January of 1982 appears at the bottom of this Burger Chef gallery.
