South Jefferson Street

I lived in Athens, AL from 1966-1974 and went to school up until 4th grade there. I remember to this day the Burger Chef and the great tasting hamburgers. Besides a local hamburger eatery named Dubs it was definitely our first choice. The milk shakes were the absolute best and I still compare others fast food shakes to them until this day.

There was a Burger Chef in Athens, Alabama in the 1970's. It was located on South Jefferson Street.

I think the 6437 1st Av N and 6437 14th Av N are duplicates, and the 1st Avenue address was correct. Unfortunately, there is a vacant lot where the building would have been.

Center Point, AL

1901 Center Point Road

Address was 1901 Center Point Rd according to the Birmingham city directory for 1970. The building is still standing and I have a photo of it that I will post here in the next several days.

A Burger Chef existed here in the early 1980s.  The building is now occupied by a used car dealership.

Governor's Drive

My Burger Chef was on Governor's Drive in Huntsville Al. across from the Medical Center. We stopped there almost every time we went into town. I still crave Burger Chef hamburgers even today.
