2243 N. Lewis Avenue

There was a Burger Chef at 2243 N. Lewis Ave. in Waukegan, Illinois... because of this Burger Chef, I had never had McDonald's until I was 9 or 10 years old. The building still exists; it is a Mexican restaurant now. God, I miss Burger Chef.

I worked at the Waukegan Burger Chef in 1960-61 . I was the Manager and had my brother Lee and all my friends working also . The memories are MANY .

I remember this place so well. I loved to go there, my grandmother lived a few houses away on Lewis Ave. A good memory of mine, it was cool you could build your own burgers :)
