608 S. Ninth
It now is home of the Chinese Kitchen. Still has the same exterior look of a Burger Chef, just some color change. The sign has been skinned over, and roof sign is gone. Found the original light fixtures in the attic there.

N. Grand Avenue West
Located around the 200 block. It was a newer location than the Stanford Street location with a more substantial looking building and roof, what looked like lava stone masonry around the sides, and no chef in the sign. Lots of great memories of those stores and those great burgers!

E. Stanford Street
Located between South 5th and South Sixth, next to Shakeys. I really enjoyed that store when I was young. Seems to me that it had a "fixin's bar" or something (I was about 6 or 7). It was mostly glass with the orange and white color scheme and had the chef in the sign. The building later became a liquour store, and was eventually torn down to widen Stanford Street.

The Burger Chef on North Grand was small but always clean. The couple that ran it also ran the ones in Champaign and Matoon. The spot where it was is now a strip mall with a medical office and State Farm office in it. The ninth street building that used to house a Chinese Kitchen is now closed. Miss the with or without hamburgers and low prices. Still have the scar from the glasses (Holly Hobbie and holiday) ones that we sold.
