This was the first GKT store. GKT was a corporation created in 1973 by George Morin, George Staffopoulos and Ken Thomason. GKT opened the North Smithfield store in 1974.

This building was originally a Kentucky Roast Beef before GKT opened up the Burger Chef. Any idea what year it was built or when KRB closed? After Burger Chef it was briefly a Hardees, then a "Hungry's".

I was just a small boy before it closed around the late 80's? and was wondering if anyone remembers the layout of the buger chef in N SMITHFIELD. I remember there being a second floor that i used to always beg my dad to take us upstairs to eat.was i imagining this?? ama i crazy? lol i was so young at the time and now im losing whatever memories i have left .. I only remember the awesome kids meals and eating upstairs.. the kids meal i got came in a race car shaped plastic container that you had to put stickers on it like the window's etc.. it was so cool i remember seeing an old poloroid photo of me with it.
