New Albany, IN

Grant Line Road

The building on Grantline Road is still there. It became a Hardees and then was sold to become a dry cleaners on one side and a liquor store on the other. I still have some of my Burger Chef toys from when I was a kid.

I worked as an Assistant/Associate Manager in Louisville, KY and New Albany, IN from about 1980 to 1991. I was involved with the conversion to Hardee's at this store. I suffered a bad case of burn-out in 1991, and was canned. Probably the best thing that ever happened to me!

When I was in first grade my family moved to New Albany and my first memory of our new house is having Burger Chef in our empty house.  I love to think back to those days. This would be around 1979 -1980

State Street

The one on State street became a Hardees then that was torn down a few years ago and on the same spot Dairy Queen built an entire new building.
