Two stores were operating in Lafayette in 1965.

Greenbush Street
Across the street from Market Square Shopping Plaza. This location changed owners several times over the years. At one time it was a store for baby items (cribs, clothes, etc). Then it became an insurance office. I have no idea what it is now. I haven't lived in Lafayette for over 10 years now but my recolections of Burger Chef are very strong. The last I heard is that all of the Hardee's in Lafayette (there were only 2) have all closed down.

Sagamore Parkway East
Sagamore Parkway was located next door to a McDonalds. It changed to a Chineese Restaurant in the early 80's after Hardee's took over and closed it down. I don't know what it is at the moment.

Teal Road
At one time there were actually 6 Burger Chef's operating in the greater Lafayette, Indiana area [including West Lafayette.] The one I visited most often was on Teal Road in the Lafayette Square Shopping Plaza. After Hardee's took over, it burned down around 1987.

At one time there were actually 6 Burger Chef's operating in the greater Lafayette, Indiana area. The one I visited most often was on Teal Road in the Lafayette Square Shopping Plaza. After Hardee's took over, it burned down around 1987. There were two located on Sagamore Parkway (also known as 52 Bypass). One was located on Sagamore Parkway West in West Lafayette. It is now called (or was) Mr. and Mrs. Tire and you can still see that it was a Burger Chef. The other location on Sagamore Parkway (East) was located next door to a McDonalds. It changed to a Chineese Restaurant in the early 80's after Hardee's took over and closed it down. I don't know what it is at the moment. There was also a location on State Street near Purdue University (again West Lafayette). It is now called Von's Copies (or was) and still looks like a Burger Chef. The other location near Purdue was in Purdue West Shopping Plaza. It was remolded after Hardee's took over in 1985 or 1986. I don't know what it is now. The final location was on Greenbush Street across the street from Market Square Shopping Plaza. This location changed owners several times over the years. At one time it was a store for baby items (cribs, clothes, etc). Then it became an insurance office. I have no idea what it is now. I haven't lived in Lafayette for over 10 years now but my recolections of Burger Chef are very strong. I worked at the Burger Chef you referred to as Sagamore parkway west. It was called Purdue Burger Chef as I was told it was the first in West Lafayette. In those days 1970-1973 it was on 52 by-pass. I went by last summer and it is still Mr and Mrs Tire. We had a good group that worked there, wish I had pictures of how it looked. Took some of how it looks now last summer.
