14th Street
Kingsville is a little spot on the map in south Texas somewhere between cactus to the south and sand to the north. On 14th Street in Kingsville there was a Burger Chef and I loved it. Like so many others who have commented – it was there and then one day it was gone. A large portion of my early pre-teen fast food memories are from that place. Burger Chef and Jeff were the BEST!!! When I talk about it most other people think I have either lost my mind (some write it off to senility – I’m only 47) or some thought I was just saying the wrong name (many have tried to correct me saying Burger King) – but I wasn’t crazy or sayin’ it wrong. Now that I found your site I am reprieved!!! J I loved Burger Chef too bad they went the way of the dinosaur!

You're not crazy! I remember that place as well. Remember going on a field trip when I was in grade school at St Gertude's. We all grabbed a rope and walked down the street. I doubt you can do that these days. Loved the fish sandwiches. I heard Hardees bought them out and had at one time had their burgers on the menu.
GOOD TIMES!!!

I remember burger chef, but don't remember the particulars on its closing. I do remember that it became a chinese food place, that is still open. Didn't they have cool give aways like drinking glasses with super heros on them?
