I remember a Burger Chef in Bloomington when I attended Indiana University in the late 70's. It was the first fast food restaurant in the area to introduce a salad/fixings bar. It was a unique concept at the time. It was so unique they did not consider all the ramification of food in the open. You can imagine my appetite vanished as I was waiting to "dress up" my burger when the person in front of me sneezed all over the food.

The Burger Chef in Bloomington was my first Burger Chef in which I managed. This brings back a lot of memories. Indiana University Cafe was closed on Sundays in which we got almost all of the students for meals they were lined up at the door.

There must have been two in Bloomington. The one I remember from the 60s was on E 3rd, near the IU dorms. Possibly E 3rd at S Swain?
